Sunny Spring Day Outfit | Oasis and Warehouse

Sunny spring days are finally here so I have started purchasing a few items for the further change in season. Oasis has been my favourite clothing shop for some time now and I never have a problem finding something I love. Warehouse is another clothing shop I'm a fan of, although I do sometimes have a problem with sizing.

In this look I paired simple skinny jeans with a gorgeous white summery lace top and chic coat. A pair of flats are perfect for a daytime look and the cream bag complements the outfit. Simply add some heels and a bright lip colour to take this outfit from day to night.

Carvela | Kurt Geiger

Dakota Lock Shoulder Bag - Carvela, Kurt Geiger  | link

I have found it! I have been searching high and low for a new bag for so many months now I've lost count....but finally I have hunted down a bag that I love!

I have always known about Kurt Geiger but haven't owned anything by the brand. I spotted a bag that I loved after seeing it featured in a blog post by Niomi Smart but it was out of my price range. I kept going online at Kurt Geiger to see what new additions had been added to the bags and accessories, and I spotted the Dakota Lock Shoulder Bag by Carvela, Kurt Geiger. This is a gorgeous winged handbag in the colour taupe and cream, which I think pair really nicely together and will be perfect for the upcoming spring and summer months. The bag is currently on a new season offer priced at £55 from £75, which is still pretty expensive but more affordable.

Which is your favourite handbag brand?

Beauty Haul

Hey guys.

I went shopping at the weekend with my sister from Beauty and the Chic and I decided I wanted to update my makeup and purchase products I hadn't used before (apart from my foundation). Our first stop was Boots as my sister wanted to get some pictures developed, and I decided to browse the makeup as there were 3 for 2 offers on some of the makeup brands.

Foundation

I needed to repurchase my MaxFactor Facefinity Foundation in the shade Warm Almond (45). This is a 3 in 1 foundation with primer, concealer and foundation all in one. I have been using this foundation for years as it is the perfect shade for my skin and I find it really easy to apply. It provides great coverage without looking cakey and a long lasting finish.

Lip products

I've wanted to purchase a new lipstick and lip gloss in a shade I didn't have, and whilst at the MacFactor counter I spotted the Colour Elixir Lip Gloss in the gorgeous colour Enchanting Coral. I always prefer to wear a lipstick underneath my lipgloss and I found the perfect match with Revlon's Super Lustrous Lipstick in Lovers Coral (825). I've already used both the lip products and so far so good. The lipstick is really moisturising, containing avocado oil and vitamin E (and  SPF 15), and adds a nice hint of colour. The lip gloss also keeps my lips feeling soft and moisturised whilst adding a gorgeous pop of colour.

Blush and Eyes

I was still at the MaxFactor counter and I spotted two more products (which was handy as they were 3 for 2!). The first was the Excess Shimmer Eyeshadow in the colour Copper, which when I tested at the counter had a nice touch of shimmer but wasn't too glittery. The second was the Creme Puff Blush and I decided on the colour Seductive Pink 15. This is a really pretty colour and the blusher has a nice shimmer to it.

Brushes

I already have the Real Techniques Core Collection brushes and I really like them, but they were the only brush set I owned, so I was on the look out for another set. I spotted the Real Techniques Limited Edition Duo-Fiber Collection set out of the corner of my eye (I noticed the pretty packaging), and I also liked the fact the brushes are designed for buildable colour and lightweight application. The set contains a duo fiber face brush, a contour brush and an eye brush. I also purchased the Real Techniques Shading Brush as I wanted an eyeshadow brush for my makeup bag.

Body

I'm a fan of the Original Source Shower Gel and as I hadn't used this one before I thought I'd give it a go; this was the Coconut Shower Gel and it smells AMAZING!

Are there any beauty products that you are loving at the moment? Hope you all have had a fab weekend!

My Favourite Winter Outfit

Duffle Coat - Zara | Embellished Jumper - Next | Floral Necklace - Accessorize | Faux Leather Trousers - Miss Selfridge | Chelsea Ankle Boots - Dorothy Perkins

Hey guys.

I thought I would share with you one of my outfits that I have been loving this winter. I have tried to find the items online, but most are now out of stock after being in the sales (sad face).

Starting with my duffle coat....it was love at first sight when I saw this in Zara in Westfields, Stratford. It is so so warm and fits perfectly, and I'm hoping it will last me for a few more winters to come. I always make sure I can comfortably wear my chunky jumpers with any coat that I buy, and this turned out to be the perfect size (I picked up the last size small). I particularly like the adjustable buckle detailing and the furry hood; it also has a high neckline with press-stud fastening to keep out the cold.

Onto my jumper....I am always drawn to any item of clothing in this berry colour particularly in winter, and when I saw the gorgeous embellishment on the back it was a "must have". The embellishment and the zip also continue down the fall length of the back of the jumper. As the detailing of the jumper is on the back, I team it with this gorgeous floral statement necklace. This was another "I have to buy this" moment whilst in Accessorize; it's so pretty and I think it adds the finishing touches to the outfit.

Recently I have been living in my faux leather trousers that I picked up from Miss Selfridge a good couple of years ago. I find them really comfortable to wear and they also keep their shape and do not go baggy after I wear them (unlike most of my jeans). I also think they look great with my black chelsea ankle boots, which I managed to pick up at the bargain price of £20 from Dorothy Perkins. I'd been searching for a pair of chelsea boots for a while now but I didn't want to spend out £60-70 on a pair, so when I spotted these I was a happy human.

What are the outfits that you have been loving this winter?

My Daily Skincare | Origins and Garnier

First things first.....HAPPY NEW YEAR GUYS and welcome to my first post of 2015!!

I thought I would share with you my daily skincare routine as I have very problematic skin and over the years I have found it very hard to find products that suit my skin and do not irritate my face. I have very oily skin (with a randomly dry forehead) and have suffered from acne since the age of 13; however it is also very sensitive and many products make my face dry and itchy.

Over the last couple of months my skincare saviours have been from the skincare brand Origins, which was introduced to me by my sister Claudia from Beauty and the Chic. I therefore thought I would share with you the products I have been using for the last couple of months.....so here we go....

Daytime Skin Care

Origins Checks and Balances Frothy face wash | Origins GinZing Energising Moisturiser | Origins Refreshing eye cream to brighten and depuff

I start by washing my face with Origins Checks and Balances Frothy face wash. This little gem is perfect for faces that are both oily and dry as the clever formulation balances the two. It is described as a "gentle, frothy face wash that carefully does both jobs without cancelling each other out". It contains Broad Leaf Kelp Extract that discourages excess oil production and Wheat Protein that balances and protects dry areas. This face wash makes my skin feel soft and clean and it doesn't make my skin feel tight or irritated; also a little goes a long way. This is definitely a favourite of mine that will be a regular on my bathroom shelf.

I then follow up with the Origins GinZing Energising Moisturiser and this is a moisturiser that instantly hydrates your skin. I love this moisturiser as it is lightweight, it absorbs really well and it is also oil free, which is perfect for my oily skin. It also contains skin-boosters including Panax Ginseng and Coffee bean to give you a "healthy, vibrant glow".

The last product I use in the morning is the Origins Refreshing eye cream to brighten and depuff. I have to say I have not used an eye cream until now, but I will definitely continue to use one in the future. This eye cream makes my under eyes less dry and I find it easier to apply my makeup and it doesn't cause my concealer to crease. The eye cream also helps to reduce the look of dark circles, and the complex of ingredients "rapidly wakes up, refreshes and restores radiance to tired eyes". As much as I like this product I would like to try a different brand of eye cream, so if you guys have any suggestions that would be fab!

GinZing Energy-boosting moisturiser - £23.00
GinZing Refreshing eye cream to brighten and depuff - £23.00

Night time Skin Care

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water | Origins Checks and Balances Frothy face wash | Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight mask to quench skins thirst | Origins High Potency Night-A-Mins
In the evenings I start by using the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water to remove as much of my makeup as I can. The benefits of this product are, it contains no perfume, it is hypoallergenic and is suitable for use on sensitive skin and delicate areas such as the eyes.  It is also very handy as you do not need to rinse it off your face.

To make sure I have removed all traces of makeup I once again use the Origins Checks and Balances frothy face wash.

I then follow up with the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight mask. This is a fairly new addition to my skincare routine as I have just started a course of medication (Isotretinoin) for my acne and a common side effect is very dry skin. This product from Origins is an intense moisture replacement mask that you use at bedtime. It contains Japanese Seaweed that repairs the skin's barrier to prevent future dehydration, and it all works whilst you sleep! This product makes my skin feel smooth and hydrated and I will continue to use it whilst I am taking my medication. (If you have used Isotretinoin or suffer from dry skin please let me know which products you find helpful. Thank you kindly!)

The final product I use at night is the Origins High Potency Night-A-Mins and I use this for added moisture after the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight mask. This moisturiser is packed with vitamins, minerals and moisture-rich replenishers for renewed and refreshed skin, whilst also helping with the appearance of dullness. It is quite a thick moisturiser but it absorbs well into the skin and leaves my skin feeling silky smooth; it also smells amazing. This is a moisturiser that is best for combination/dry skin, although they also do an oil free version that is suitable for combination/oily skin.

I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas and New Year and I will see you guys soon!

Outfit of the Day

Coat - Topshop | T-shirt - Topshop | Trousers - Miss Selfridge | Shoes - Oasis | Bag - Oasis | Watch - Michael Kors

Hi guys,

I went shopping at the weekend back home in Southend with my sister Beauty and the Chic so I thought I would show you the outfit that I threw together....

My coat is from Topshop and it is a lightweight jersey coat with all-over checked print. I spotted this coat the minute I walked in - I think it's really different and I don't own anything like it. As it is lightweight it if perfect for the Autumn weather, but |I will need a thicker coat as it gets colder.

As the coat is quite snazzy I teamed it with a plain white loose fitting t-shirt that is also from Topshop, and plain black trousers from Miss Selfridge (the trousers I did buy a good few years ago). To keep in with the colour theme I used this colour block bag from Oasis (purchased last year).

I've needed a new pair of black flats for a while now and I was drawn to these because of the sparkle; they are so pretty. They are slightly too tight but I'm hoping they will stretch as I wear them in.

My Michael Kors watch is a recent splurge and I'm totally in love with it!! It was my present to myself for 6 years of hard work to becoming a pharmacist - well done me. Here's the link for the My Pharmacy Journey post if you wish to have a read.
